What is Ozone?
Ozone treatment uses an ozone generator to release ozone (O3) into a space to react with odor causing organic molecules, breaking them down and neutralizing them through oxidation.
How does it work?
To remove odors, it is important to use a tactic that will work to kill the particles that are deeply embedded in household objects and the air. Additionally, smoke particles could be stuck in the ducts and ventilation of the air conditioning systems. Ozone is very effective in eliminating odours including tobacco smoke, human and pet odours, food odours, mold and mildew odours, garbage odours, renovation odours and much more. It is not a re-odorant. It destroys the offending molecules that are the source of everything we smell. Unlike many other deodorizing methods, ozone actually destroys the problem molecules it comes in contact with.
Can I remain in the home? Do I have to remove my pets and plants?
No. You and your pets & plants cannot remain in the home during treatment. High concentrations of ozone are hazardous to humans, pets and plants. What makes ozone (O3) effective at oxidizing odor causing molecules is its high reactivity and instability. Ozone is not stable for longer than a few of hours, so once we stop the active treatment, the remaining ozone (O3) simply decomposes to oxygen (O2) with no hazardous residue. With that in mind we do test the enviroment in the home to ensure ozone has returned to safe levels prior to clearing for entry (typically 24 hours is needed for treatment).
We must allow adequate ventilation time prior to re-entering the home. If you still smell strong ozone in your home upon returning, you can open windows and turn up the heat (passing ozone rich air through a hot furnace heat exchanger is effective at accelerating ozone decomposition).
What areas do you serve?
Primarily the Edmonton area which includes Sherwood Park, St Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Beaumont, Spruce Grove, and the surrounding rural areas.
What do you need from me? What is Lockbox access?
All we need is someone to get us access to the home and we take it from there! If you are working with a Realtor and your home currently has a lockbox on the property we can use that key for access.
What odors do you work with?
Most common are cigarette and cannabis smoke, followed by strong food or pet odors, water or mildew. Keep in mind that the source of the odor has to be removed from the home or the odor will recur.
What types of properties do you work with?
Most common are all types of residential homes and condos.
Do you guarentee it will work?
The key to successful odor elimination is removing the cause of the odor so that is does not recur. Ozone can only penetrate so deeply into surfaces like, painted walls, hardwood, carpet, etc... so if they are still contaminated then the odor can recur. Thoroughly cleaning walls, floors, carpets prior to treating with ozone will improve the chances of success in odor removal. It is impossible to guarantee no odor will remain but we will do our best to eliminate or reduce.
